Selling Genetically Mutated Kittens!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My best friend purchased a ragdoll cat three years ago, named Shepard from Texas Ragdoll Kittens. She would be writing this review if she had not been totally devastated by the death of her three-year-old cat.

Shepard was like her child, paying $2200 to take Shepard home. On one of his first vet visits, my friend found that Shepard had a major heart murmur and neurological concerns. The cat also could not see out of one eye. The neurological issues have turned into seizure episodes, leading to having to put Shepard down the other day.

I cannot believe that Texas Ragdoll Kittens can continue to do business, especially at a high fee, when selling genetically mutated cats.

Theyre cute cats but beware!

My heart goes out to my friend and all others that have to put their pet down, especially within such a short period. Buyers beware!

Texas Ragdoll Kittens - Kitten Mill, No Ethics 60 Kittens for Sale at a Time.

BUYER BEWARE!! She goes by two names, Joni Preston and Joan Cox.

Justin and Roanoke area of DFW.

THIS BREEDER DOES NOT DO GENETIC TESTING ON HER CATS/KITTENS. AND IF SHE DOES, SHE IS PURPOSEFULLY SELLING KITTENS WITH GENETIC PREDISPOSITION FOR HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY!!

We purchased two kittens from TXRagdoll Kittens in September of 2020, and picked them up to bring home in November.

One of our precious kittens was diagnosed with Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy about a month ago by a cardiologist at Texas A&M University's Small Animal Hopital. Today we received test results that the other has tested positive heterozygous for the HCM mutation.

When we previously contacted Joni about this, she blamed the rabies vaccines for causing this GENETIC issue.

Anyone with half a brain that has a rudimentary understanding of science knows that that is NOT how genetics works.

She also tried to tell us that we needed to wait until the kittens were over 10 lbs before giving them a rabies vaccine because they were too small for a rabies vaccine dose meant for 10 lbs cats.

That is NOT how vaccines work.

Vaccine dosages have NOTHING to do with weight. Dogs and cats of all sizes get the same dosage.

We want all buyers, and potential buyers, to be aware of possible genetic health issues when purchasing a kitten from THIS breeder.

It's obvious that Joni Preston doesn't care about the kittens that she sells, regardless of what she tells you.

She is just in it for the money.

Unfortunately, we trusted this con artist and lined her pockets with $4,000.

Now, one of our precious, sweet babies is dealing with a terminal illness that could have been avoided if this breeder had done proper genetic testing on her breeding cats.

Our family is heartbroken over this! We would hate to see another family have to go through what we are going through as the result of purchasing a kitten from this irresponsible breeder.

If you are seriously considering purchasing a Ragdoll kitten, please, please, please look for another breeder!

If you want to buy a Ragdoll, look for a breeder that is reputable, ethical, and registered. Look for a breeder that actually cares about the kittens that they breed. I promise you that Joni Preston and Texas Ragdoll Kittens aren't any of those things.

Unfortunately, we found that out the hard way. Don't make the same mistake that we did.

There was no $4000 loss as he purchased two cats and he did not lose both cats (that is the total for two cats). And his cat did not die, he euthanized it after a lethal rabies vaccine at 3 pounds and 4 months of age.

We advise against rabies shots for Ragdolls especially when they are small. Troy did not listen.

This is loaded with untruths, told by a big pharma rep who over dosed his 3 pound kitten on rabies vaccine. We are not a kitten mill and he knows this.

He has been to our home and bought from us twice, he failed to heed our warning about vaccines and proceeded to inject a 4 month old kitten with a full dose of rabies vaccine, which is dangerous for Ragdolls.

Since then, he has been PISSED OFF AT ME. Not our fault, we warn against it.

Breeder broke agreement, never received registration papers

Beware of this seller. She goes by different names, Joni Preston, Joan Cox, and Joan Preston.

This breeder is very nice and helpful when she is selling you a kitten. I bought my first Ragdoll from her. When I was contemplating purchasing my second kitten from her she was still very helpful and friendly (I actually thought we had become friends.) I originally decided I wanted another female, but she did not have the coloring I wanted. She did however have the coloring I wanted in a male.

She convinced me to get him, so I paid for him full of $1,8000. When I went back to wanting a female she persuaded me to get a different type of colored female. I was wrestling with all of this, and then asked her to keep my deposit which is usually $200 and return the rest for a future kitten. She refused to refund any amount, said no refunds of any kind whatsoever, and to make a long story short, she became VERY HOSTILE AND RUDE once I contacted Paypal for a refund of a kitten I never received.

She insulted me, called me a liar, has gone back on her word, and now refuses to give me my first ragdoll's registration papers despite my many attempts to reconcile. This woman is all about the money and spiteful. On top of that, I've realized that her King Bo Duke is not a purebred Ragdoll. We send out registration papers once your kitten is neutered. They are sold as pets.

This person is using a fake name but the kitten was not purchased as a breeder. And she smeared us on the internet for years. She lied through the entire purchase process then tried to blackmail us into selling breeding rights to her.

Tiffanny {{Redacted}}. Get a life.

Amilya Svs

When purchasing a pet, the buyer is required to send in proof of neuter. This buyer planned to breed her cat and did not purchase breeding rights: which includes a contract and additional fees.

The registration papers were not sent because she did not neuter her cat. That is all. We send out registration papers once the kittens are neutered.

Our website explicitly explains this and she knew she was pulling a quicky but wanted to breed without paying the additional fees. Not an honest person.
